The wyld orchard stays…
a perfect getaway for 2
Our new accommodation has been a long project of love created to compliment the special and unique home, that is Greenlands and sit alongside our cidery.
A vibrant off-grid hut secluded in the orchard of our cidery farm; perfect for peace but just 15 mins from the Jurassic Coast (sleeps 2)…
Once you reach ‘The Wyld’, you come to a special home in the orchard surrounded by woodland. The stable door to the hut opens off the balcony to your bedroom and small living quarters where you have a view right across the valley! The hut itself consists of a double bed, baskets for storage, 2 comfy chairs, a table and log burner to keep the home fires burning.
There is electricity, but only on a small scale simply for lighting and phone charging - no kettles, appliances or surging appliances here! Cooking can be done on the gas stove provided, making a fire in the firepit or lighting the wood-burning stove in the hut. The kitchen is set against the hut with a tin roof enabling you to cook or sit with a glass of something nice, whatever the weather. Supplied are all you need to get going in the kitchen - you just bring the ingredients and imagination!
We have a gas powered outdoor hot water ‘living’ shower, where one wall is made of growing willow, enabling you to have a shower directly in nature! And, our ‘rocket ship’ compost toilet, a small distance away from the hut, potentially has the best view in Dorset, across the valley through the porthole.
There are blankets and hot water bottles for warmth on a cool evening sitting outside on the balcony, a cool box with ice-packs chilled down upon arrival for your supplies of fridge goods (we can swap out packs for fresh ones over the stay), kindling and logs to get you going with your fires, and, if you’re ready to explore beyond the Orchard, you have direct access to the ‘Monarch’s Way’ which is a long rambling walk direct from our home which can take you directly to the coast by foot or inland up towards Crewkerne.
The Wyld is for people with a sense of adventure, but also those looking for a cosy nook to sleep, build fires, walk the woodland paths away from everyday life and maybe have a cider made from the Top Orchard.
Thank you, Jules and Anson
